Personality
I am an enthusiastic, caring and devoted tutor who will do anything and everything to ensure my students feel confident with the material they are struggling with. I like to teach using lots of examples and attempt to morph my lessons to meet the needs of each student I work with. I believe every individual is able to learn anything they put their minds to when placed in the correct learning environment. Therefore my goal when tutoring is always to create a safe space where students are not afraid to make mistakes, ask questions and are excited to learn!
Biography (tutoring history)
In 2017, I was enrolled into Queen’s University’s Concurrent Education program with a major in Biology and specialization in Mathematics. In April of 2021, I completed my Bachelor of Science with distinction and am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Education which will be completed in 2022. This program has enriched my understanding of Biology and Mathematics, while giving me hands on experience teaching in various classroom settings. Through these experiences I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of elementary and high school students in both group and 1-on-1 settings. Additional experience I have comes from working multiple summers at camps, which have allowed me to hone my skills in engaging students in activities. I always enjoy meeting new learners as they bring their own unique challenges and backgrounds which help to expand my teaching abilities.
